Steel rails, also known as rail tracks and railway rails, are the main components of railway tracks. Its function is to guide the wheels of the locomotive, bear the huge pressure of the wheels, and maintain the stability of railway transportation. The rails must provide a continuous, smooth and minimal rolling surface for the wheels. Rails can also be used as track circuits in electrified railways or automatic blocking sections.
Rails are divided into crane rails, heavy rails and light rails.
Light rail is divided into national standard and ministry standard (YB metallurgical standard). There are 8kg, 12kg, 15kg, 18kg, 22kg, 24kg, 30kg.
Light rail is mainly used for the laying of temporary traffic lines and light locomotive lines in forest areas, mining areas, factories and construction sites.
