What is the PCV system problem? (Oil Ingestion)
- The PCV System vents crankcase pressure through your intake track and a lot of oil in the form of vapors get sucked through the air creating a pool of oil in your intake tube. Even worse is it leaves a coating in the intake runners and dilutes your gas, this lowers your octane and kills combustion chamber efficiency. This is common with all engines and is even more severe with forced inducted vehicles (supercharged and turbocharged) with increased cylinder/crankcase pressures.
